The Soundweavers cast is excited to announce that our third cycle will feature Pascal le Boeuf, Third Coast Percussion, the Fifth House Ensemble, and Tony Arnold!


In episode 11, Rosy and Blaire chat with pianist-composer Pascal le Boeuf about straddling the new music and jazz realms, collaborations between the JACK Quartet and the le Boeuf Brothers Quintet, and the impact that the Black Lives Matter movement is having on musics steeped in Black culture.


In the next episode, Rosy and Adam speak with Sean Connors and Peter Martin of Third Coast Percussion about the process of becoming nominated (and then winning) a Grammy, the nitty-gritty logistical details of managing the percussion equipment needed for a single concert, and launching innovative apps to to educate listeners on how to engage with their albums.


The following episode features Melissa Ngan and Herine Coetzee Koschak of Fifth House Ensemble discussing their interactive performances for the video games Journey and Undertale, managing the Fresh Inc Festival for emerging artists, their daily deep-listening livestream series, and developing collaborative ventures with major institutions from the Cleveland Orchestra to the San Francisco Opera.


Tony Arnold joins us in episode 14 to talk about her mid-career transition from orchestral conductor to all-star vocalist, her close connection with George Crumb’s music, serving as the Howard Hanson Distinguished Professor of Composition at the Eastman School of Music, and the immense value of exploring a diverse array of musical interests as a chamber musician.
